Hunger Games: Kansas Judge Declines SNAP Data Deadline Despite Cutoff Fear

We could call this a game of chicken . . . But that would imply that there's something to eat if this hot mess goes sideways . . . Check-it: 

District Judge Teresa Watson said in a Sept. 18 court hearing in Topeka that she won't order state compliance with the data request before the Sept. 19 deadline.

The decision could put at risk millions of dollars in federal funding, but it provides the state the opportunity to submit a corrective action proposal and gives the court more time to decide a motion to dismiss.
