Ward Parkway Worry: Will Kansas City Ever Be Safe Enough For Karen?!?

Quick answer . . . Nope.

In our experience, KC never has been and never will be a place as "safe" as nearby suburbs. Locals can whine about it or act accordingly.

OF COURSE WE'RE NOT BLAMING VICTIMS!!!

It would be nice if we lived in a town where strangers could make friends in parking lots or old ladies could get groceries without fear . . . But that NEVER HAS BEEN KC in our experience.

Kansas City is a place where residents have to practice situational awareness at all times and look out for threats. That's just the price of living in a town with more to do than watch the grass grow.

And so . . .

We respect the outcry of this lady and we welcome debate . . . It's merely our contention that it is unlikely that any big city will EVER be this carefree . . .

Check-it:

“I should not have to worry about my mom going to our grocery store that we all go to all the time,” she said.

“All three of these places are trying to build and boom and grow and build, you know, residences and other awesome restaurants and small businesses, whether they be local or they be chains and they should thrive. And we should feel safe going to all of these places. And we don’t . . .”

“And as we all know, when there is more physical presence of security or actual police officers, whoever it may be, things like this don't happen.”

“I shouldn't have to worry about getting my kid out of the car like, is someone over my shoulder?” she said.
