Teen Girl Shot & Killed Marks Kansas City 2025 Homicide #100

This weekend Kansas City hits a tragic milestone that speaks to the worsening level of deadly violence on local streets. 

KCPD INVESTIGATE TEEN GIRL SHOT & KILLED INSIDE RESIDENCE!!!

Here's the first report as we endure yet another record-breaking pace for local homicide and struggle to deal with not only local murders but also an uptick in violence against females.

Homicide 3600 Block of Norton

Tonight just after 10pm officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Norton on a shooting call.

On arrival officers were led inside a residence where they located a female juvenile teen shooting victim unresponsive.

Officers summoned EMS to the scene who transported the victim to the hospital. The victim was declared deceased by medical personnel at the hospital.

Homicide detectives have responded to the scene and are investigating. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for all available evidence.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was inside a residence at the location when gunfire from an unknown suspect or suspects came from outside the residence to the inside, striking the victim. There is no known suspect information at this time.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
