Sure, some maqluba sounds great . . . Even on a 100 degree summer day.
And . . .
We're guessing that it's pretty safe to play provocateur amongst the middle-class foodies who shamelessly stuff themselves at this longstanding event.
Still . . . Our journalistic integrity (lulz) sparks us to ask this question . . .
IS THE KANSAS CITY ETHNIC ENRICHMENT FESTIVAL FLEXING WITH THEIR INCLUSION OF PALESTINE?!?
This could go either way way . . .
If the were going for realism, they could launch some water bombs into the tent at some of the busiest times just to give some semblance of the desperation in and around the Holy Land . . . Or maybe take the food and money and use it to fund illicit gun sales near Swope Park in much the same way terrorists often hijack resources from their own communities.
The possibilities are limitless . . .
But what is far more likely is that some middle-class progressive Karen will mistakenly think she's a saint for buying baklava from the hard-working and honest people of wherever . . .
Check-it:
"The 46th annual festival celebrates the cultures and cuisines represented in the Kansas City area. This year, for the first time, that includes Palestine. Organizers say it's a chance to give back to the city that welcomed them."
