Posted only because we like history even if the analogy is forced and very silly.

However . . . There's also an inherent contradiction . . .

If the U.S. was just a discount version of the ancient Roman empire . . . Than it's likely that even our critical discourse would do nothing more than advance the interests of the Republic/State/Dictator and ultimately prove inconsequential to a historic reign of cruelty . . . And it's unlikely our friendly, neighborhood progressives are that cynical . . . And, yet again, TKC is disappointed that we don't get a toga party . . .
