Most local readers don't know it but the bulk of "news" in this town that middle-class people actually read is coming from one collection of dorks from the Lower Ivies & better state schools than your parents could afford . . .
We call them a cartel for giggles . . . They actually identify as the KC Media Collective.
Most of their stuff is harmless but this well-hidden gem tells a strange story that can't really be verified by anybody . . . Here's a clip . . .
A Kansas City resident who believes he observed federal agents arresting Latino workers at a construction site in mid-July shared a photo . . . The workers were released shortly after this photo was taken. Tensions quickly escalated as bystanders began yelling and cursing. At least one agent who identified himself as a U.S. marshal cursed back, said the man who took photos.
The incident is now part of a growing list being documented by local advocates for immigrant rights. They’re tracking dozens of possible immigration actions, watching for patterns and trying to tamp down unsubstantiated rumors before they spread.
The Waldo incident has not been confirmed as an immigration raid.
You tell us . . .
IS THE KC MEDIA COLLECTIVE INCITING AN UPRISING AGAINST LA MIGRA?!?
Their "up with the people" flex is probably irresponsible for a lot of reasons but mostly because TKC hopes to keep the chubby, lovable white women of Brookside/Waldo safe from all threats including those of their own making.
And so we think it's fair to question this kind of activist writing that seems more like an endorsement of provocation rather than journalism but, as always, we want readers to decide for themselves.
