
For those who might don't know . . .
Substack is an online writing platform wherein authors can make certain that their work is mostly unread and supported only by lonely aunts who also write never-to-be-opened Christmas cards to Rachel Maddow every year.
We don't think Mayor Q's Substack will last very long if only because it's a waste of time even for an unpaid intern . . . However . . .
Insights from a recent Troost small biz walk do merit some consideration if only because KCMO still hasn't developed a vision beyond the pre-COVID amateur urban planner sales pitch that is mostly funded by dark money and results in nothing more substantive than ridiculous parking schemes.
Here's the word . . .
"Troost had more going on than even I knew. You can drive a street every day and miss some things. On Troost, the strength of local businesses was exceptional. Diversity in restaurant choices was great. And, the challenges were outweighed by strong development near them. Some spots are lean, such as you head south approaching Cleaver II/47th St. There are still too many used car lots that are overfilled with some cars that don't seem to be moving."
