
It's important that Kansas City keeps arguing about violence on local streets and today's debate focused on local lockup promises that remain unfulfilled.
The bright side . . .

That's the way we're thinking about it . . .
Is it unfair that downtown violence gets so much attention? Probably, but we're talking about the financial future of the entire city that could be completely obliterated by just a few people taking aim at each other . . . So the concern might be merited inasmuch as EVERYONE will suffer if all of the schemes inside the loop collapse . . . Which is a possibility given the current "momentum" following recent gunfire.
And so . . .
We picked out the quote that explains some of the conversation that has now REVERSED COURSE and argues for lockup over "social justice" anti-crime counseling programs to fight the "root causes" of violence.
Check-it . . .
"I believe what we're looking at is of course working with our KCPD, with our elected officials and property owners on finding a solution that works on every level because this does touch on each one of those levels," Downtown Council of Kansas City Vice President Sean O'Byrne continued. "We do believe that there is a need for additional jail cells with a modular jail. We believe that that would help increase police presence certainly, coordination with our property owners, with all of those together, working together, we think that could change the dynamic."
