Kansas City Hard Time After Brother Kills Brother With Sword

Domestic drama can often seem absurd for those who have the luxury of viewing it from the outside. 

However . . . We're sharing this story to illustrate a worsening trend of worsening violence inside homes across the metro . . . Here's the crux of the story:  

"A jury found him guilty in July of second-degree murder and armed criminal action. In October 2022, Aaron fatally stabbed his brother with a sword at their home near 62nd Street and Tracy Avenue.

"When officers arrived at the home, they found Karl Winn on the front porch with a sword through his chest, police said.

"Charging documents say Aaron Winn originally told police that his brother had died by suicide. Then he told police he and his brother got into an argument over the oven being shut off while he was trying to cook, prosecutors said."

Kansas City man sentenced to 18 years for killing brother with sword

Aaron Winn, 41, was sentenced Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court to 18 years in prison for the 2022 killing of his brother, Karl Winn.
