Kansas City 2025 Homicide #107: Woman Shot Dead Overnight

A report and the continuation of a tragic trend . . . Moreover, it's something that needs even more attention:

Homicide 5200 block of Euclid

This evening (8/30) around 10:14PM, officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of Euclid Ave. on a reported sound of shots. While enroute the call was updated to a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene where they located an adult female victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and unresponsive. EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased.

We do not have any preliminary information as to what lead up to the shooting at this time. It is unknown if the gunshots came from someone on foot or in a vehicle. No suspects have been identified at this time and we do not have anyone in custody.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
