Our tipster contends that a former KCPD officer who was granted clemency for a controversial shooting death was in attendance. Agree or disagree . . . The name sends a strong signal about where Councilman Willett stands when it comes to law enforcement.
Other locals who attended the event were encouraged that campaign kickoff remarks included a great deal of advocacy for first responders and an alliance with police as the one of the main components of Willet's platform.
