
This summer urban protesters targeted immigrant-owned convenience stores near Prospect and demanded a shift in operating hours, an increase in security and even limits against alcohol sales amid a recent spate of violence. Surprisingly, the stores agreed but the violence simply moved to other locations along the corridor and continues unabated.
Tonight . . . Here's another report of a deadly shooting near a retail outlet along Prospect as KCMO moves closer to hitting the homicide century mark again in 2025 . . . Check-it:
"KCPD says that at around 7 p.m., officers were called to the area near 53rd Street and Prospect Avenue on a reported shooting. When those officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a nearby convenience store."
