Triumphant Kansas City Return For Controversial Dennis Carpenter?!?

Actually, this post merely serves as yet another #TBT reminder of how much local NEWS doesn't know or won't tell readers.

A recent half-report about the hot mess in the Hickman Mills School District . . .

The Star on Yahoo.com: Familiar face to lead KC school district again after controversial tenure nearby

This might pass for background from lesser publications . . .

"From 2019 to 2025, Carpenter stepped into the consulting world, launching Aspirational Insights Consulting with his wife . . . He also worked as an educational consultant across multiple organizations, including education technology platforms ThoughtExchange and Evolv Technology."

Cool story . . .

But . . .

TKC READERS also wanted to share a worthwhile smoke shop interview that probably didn't merit any scrutiny from local education leaders in charge of hiring.

Do TKC a favor and copy that one . . . We wanted to make sure there are plenty of digital markers if it suddenly "disappears" which would be silly because there's nothing illegal or even wrong with a small vape shop or even cannabis/CBD biz now that legal rules have changed.

Still . . . It's worth talking about and sharing with readers rather than willingly ignoring the connection that's currently running rampant on social media . . .

Moreover . . .

A quick trip down memory lane for those who care to recall the time before the pandemic . . . And no, we're not dredging through the muck of social media, just sharing a link from not so long ago that everyone seems to have forgotten as well . . .

KMBC: Lee's Summit superintendent responding to controversy over Facebook photo

And that brings www.TonysKansasCity.com readers to this week's reunion news . . .

The district said Dr. Dennis Carpenter has been appointed as interim superintendent “in a move to ensure stability and continuity.”

Carpenter has served in the role before.

“I am honored to return to HMC-1 during this time of transition,” said Dr. Dennis L. Carpenter. “This district holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to reconnecting with the community, supporting our schools, and ensuring stability as the Board conducts its search for a permanent leader.”
