Missouri is one of the WORST & lowest paying places to work as a teacher and public education has been a constant target of Jeff City . . . This week the Guv keeps up the tradition that shows now sign of improvement . . . 

"Recruiting new teachers may become more difficult for Missouri schools after the governor cut some programs from the state budget.

"Missouri’s fiscal year started Tuesday, just one day after the governor signed a $50.8 billion state budget. Gov. Mike Kehoe vetoed over $300 million from that state budget. Millions from the public education program are among those vetoes, including $2.5 million for a program called Grow Your Own."

Gov. Kehoe pumps brakes on $511 million in Missouri's new state budget - Missourinet

The Missouri Legislature's $50.8 billion state budget proposal is too much for Gov. Mike Kehoe. The governor has vetoed, reduced, or frozen 240 items in the new Fiscal Year 2026 spending plan. In a news release from his office, it says his changes total nearly $511 million.
