Business owners in the West Bottoms of Kansas City are fighting what they call “exorbitant increases” in their property assessments. Following a Board of Directors meeting last week, the Historic West Bottoms Association (HWBA) issued a letter Monday requesting “a thorough and transparent review and modification of the most recent commercial property assessments conducted by Jackson County.”
