This time around . . . Denizens of the district figured out how to "disappear" local taxpayer cash for plans that should only elicit an eye roll for anyone who understands the history of this district that has ALWAYS garnered cash from suckers.

"The developments are centered around Kansas City's historically disinvested 3rd and 5th council districts. The money will help transform Parade Park Homes, restore the Workhouse Castle and Historic Boone Theater, and preserve Satchel Paige's house.

"A pair of high-profile projects at 18th and Vine — restoring the Boone Theater and its Kansas City jazz legacy, along with transforming the long-vacant Workhouse Castle into a boutique hotel — are just a few of the just-funded redevelopment initiatives aimed at buoying small business and tackling challenges in Kansas City’s urban core."
