"I’m troubled by the growing number of posts produced by or, as here, summarized by AI on the Kansas City Star website and other media sources. I disagree often with human journalists, but judgment, empathy, and inquiry are the work of real people—reporters, writers, editors, and photographers. Maybe I’m an old timer (as a geriatric millennial), but budget challenges should lead to investment in people, not aimless, machine-generated clicks."

Mayor Q On FB: "Many of the real people at the Star continue to produce good work. They deserve our subscriptions, not AI. AI is a worthy tool to support journalists. It should not replace them."
