Last month, an evidentiary hearing was held at the Jackson County Courthouse regarding Scott's competency to continue the trial. The judge ruled Scott as mentally fit on Thursday, July 3.
This is the longest running criminal case in Jackson County, having been filed eight years ago in 2017.
The court ordered a case management conference to be held on July 10, to choose a trial date and other pending issues in the case.
