"A petition filed on Thursday, July 10, has revealed that the Jackson County and Kansas City Election Boards have asked the Jackson County Circuit Court to intervene in the election date debate for the potential recall of Jackson County Executive Frank White.

"The lawsuit filed by the Election Boards seeks to prevent the Clerk of the Jackson County Legislature, Mary Jo Spino, and White from holding a recall election on Aug. 26. The Boards believe the date conflicts with state law."
