Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced on Tuesday, July 22, that he issued an opinion to warn the Johnson County Board of Commissioners that it may have exceeded its authority with a proposed ballot question.
“The ballot proposition is not within the scope of the Board’s authority…and any measures that exceed the Board’s authority are null and void,” the Attorney General’s opinion reads.
