KC Pet Project Stays Losing 2025

THE KC PET PROJECT IS SLOWLY BUT SURELY UNDERGOING A TAKEOVER. 

Public/private projects never last for long in KC and this is another step toward local politicos stripping away so much hard work from volunteers . . . Check-it: 

Starting on July 30, the local shelter will pass the baton to the city's Neighborhood Services Department, giving city administrators authority over metro-wide animal control operations.

According to the city, the July 30 start date was strategically planned, giving residents the opportunity to receive uninterrupted services despite the drastic change.

But even though the city will be taking on the new role, KC Pet Project will continue to manage the municipal animal shelter in Swope Park, which has been in operation since 2012, the city said.

KC Pet Project to transfer animal control duties to city of Kansas City

By the end of July, KC Pet Project will no longer be overseeing animal control services throughout Kansas City, a spokesperson for the city announced on Tuesday.
