Kansas Lawman Challenges AG Kobach

Here's more than a bit of progressive hype from the Dem funded news cartel.

In fairness, the report does acknowledge that the crime rate has plummeted under the tenure of the incumbent . . . Check-it:

Democrat Chris Mann said the Kansas attorney general’s office needed to be reoriented to concentrate on basics of law enforcement and to “defend the rule of law, protect our rights, protect our families and make Kansas a safer place to live.”

Kobach, who served as Kansas secretary of state prior to election as attorney general, would be the presumed Republican candidate for reelection. In 2022, he prevailed in a three-candidate GOP primary against state Sen. Kellie Warren and attorney Tony Mattivi. Kobach later appointed Mattivi to lead the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Danedri Herbert, who is Kobach’s campaign spokesperson and serves as chair of the state Republican Party, issued a statement in response to Mann’s candidacy.

“Chris Mann talks a lot about safety. But Kris Kobach has delivered,” Herbert said. “Under Kris Kobach’s leadership, the Kansas crime rate has dropped to the lowest point in 20 years. As a result, Kansans are safer than they have ever been in the last 20 years.”
