Just wanted to make things perfectly clear about the bias of this blog . . .
IF YOU OPPOSE THE RESULTS OF A FREE & FAIR MAGA ELECTION THAT OFFERS LEGIT TIME OFF FOR WORKERS THEN YOU'RE PROBABLY A PARTISAN HACK & NOT A REAL CONSERVATIVE!!!
Moreover . . .
It's probably time for workers to stop being nice about this kind of thing and weed out so many politicos who PRACTICE PRETEND POPULISM and then just take their marching orders from the same old special interests.
We may not agree with everything this local worker belives but we RESPECT his story that is all to familiar in the Show-Me State . . .
A McDonald's employee for over two decades and an active member of StandUp KC and the Missouri Workers Center, shared his personal experience with the challenges imposed by the lack of paid sick leave.
He recounts a poignant incident involving his mother, who fell ill while he was at work.
"I could not afford to stay home and care for her," he said. "I had to go to work, keep the bills and lights paid, and keep the roof over our heads. When I came home from work, she had suffered a stroke while I was gone. She was in a coma for three days and had to go into a nursing home after that. I sometimes wonder what if I had been there for her during those crucial hours."
"This was a popular bill," he said. "We won the hearts and minds of the people; we won them over. For politicians to just ignore that in favor of corporate profit is very aggravating and disappointing."
