Teams don't want to vote again . . . Missouri is looking for a workaround and Kansas would rather spend their cash on sports team than infrastructure, healthcare or education . . . And so, here's an update:
"In Jackson County, County Executive Frank White Jr. said he's letting Kansas City, Missouri, take over Royals discussions south of the river. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said he thinks the Royals could build a stadium at Washington Square Park—without having to pass a ballot initiative.
"In Clay County, where the Royals had once discussed building a ballpark near 18th and Fayette in North Kansas City, commissioners there have just four more meetings between now and Aug. 26. The commission meetings are held on Thursdays at the Clay County Administration Building in Liberty, Missouri. The commission has meetings scheduled for July 31, Aug. 7, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21 – prior to the Aug. 26 deadline."
