Kansas City Irish Fest Confronts MAGA ICE Deportation Raids?!?

La Migra is coming after the undocumented Irish and that could impact an upcoming Kansas City celebration.

Consider . . .

This Summer Kansas City organizers cancelled an increasingly popular local Colombian Independence Day festival out of fear immigration raids and worsening anti-immigrant sentiment.

Accordingly . . .

Not to be a narc and we're NOT gonna name names, but TKC knows at least three local Irish dudes with questionable papers who serve as some of the most popular attractions at KC Irish Fest. In fact, just to offer a bit of context . . . Among the hardcore cowtown Irish, it's kind of a "flex" to keep Irish citizenship and reject American naturalization in order to maintain cultural credibility and stand out from so many suburbanites who claim Irish ancestry but seem about as authentic as a McDonald's shamrock shake

And so we beg the question . . .

WHY SHOULDN'T KANSAS CITY IRISH FEST CANCEL IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEIR PATRONS FROM MAGA/ICE RAIDS AND DEPORTATION TO LATIN AMERICAN PRISONS?!?

Hint . . .

The answer will feature a great deal of tap dancing which might not realize that constantly shifting immigration rules don't apply equally to everyone or every community.

However . . .

In fairness, we want to share this note in order to consider that a handful of Irish in U.S. have, in fact, confronted La Migra problems just like their browner Catholic counterparts . . . Check-it:

"Ciaran Staunton, head of the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform, said the recent deportation of thousands of undocumented people from the US is not just confined to immigrants from Central and South America . . . The comments come after it emerged 56 undocumented Irish people have been arrested and 43 of them have been deported. The arrests were in New York, Boston and New Jersey and are believed to be focused on Irish visitors to America who overstayed their 90-day visa waiver."
