
Couple of things . . .
Artsy denizens know that their "craft" isn't important if they're looking to the newspaper for pub.
Also . . .
There was a time when this gathering ALMOST seemed organic but too many committees, gatekeepers and organizers kept it from reaching critical mass.
Also . . . Let's be real . . . Two weeks of local "talent" is about 13 days too long.
Here's a more optimistic appraisal . . . Check-it:
"The festival, which bills itself as Kansas City’s “largest celebration of arts and culture,” lists its dates as July 13-27, but that is somewhat misleading. The 63 stage productions that are the festival’s meat and potatoes don’t kick off until July 18."
