Kansas City Crime Scene: Police Fight Illegal Gunfire & Fireworks

Once again . . . This is the time of year when everybody in KCMO experiences a truism . . . 

Without enforcement, laws are mostly just a polite suggestion.

Accordingly . . .

Here's a crackdown effort that might hopefully inspire some second guessing amongst mostly carefree party people . . . 

Celebratory gunfire will be a special focus for police this weekend. 

Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson has also taken a strong interest in enforcement of Blair's Law. She's expected to join other law enforcement officials at a Wednesday morning news conference at KCPD headquarters, where celebratory gunfire is expected to be the primary topic of discussion. 

A presser tomorrow morning is a tradition that, hopefully, might save a few lives.
