Kansas City Cinematic Comeback?!?

This week we found what is likely the best report on local creatives so far this Summer. 

The only problem . . . The feature concerns GenXers who still want to be Quentin Tarantino or maybe even a lower rent Kevin Smith. 

Also . . .

"Movies" aren't exactly what they used to be and the cultural zeitgeist leans more toward throw away short clips . . . Many are just manufactured by AI or very hungry Indian dudes hoping for a social media payout.  

But enough of our skepticism . . . Here's the good news: 

Over the last few years, the commission reinstated dormant incentives and created new ones for filmmaking in the city and the state of Missouri that reportedly has Hollywood production companies taking renewed interest in KC filming. Although a few notable titles, such as Boris Is Dead starring Dane Cook and several Lifetime and Hallmark movies, have been filmed over the last couple years, only time will tell if KC once again turns into a filming hot spot.
