Kansas City Buying Burned Out Strip Mall For EPIC $450K

Don't worry . . . This DOOMED Kansas City development idea that seems like a steal for only half a million bucks will likely cost MILLIONS without a sustainable biz model.

Here's a peek at more damage covered by taxpayers . . .

"The Finance Governance and Public Safety Committee will consider the purchase Tuesday morning of a shopping center that’s been the focus of numerous complaints . . . The Robandee Shopping Center on Bannister Road at the corner of James A Reed was declared blighted by the City of Kansas City in 2018, but official city documents submitted ahead of Tuesday’s meeting say since then its only gotten worse. They call it “a detriment to surrounding neighborhoods” with numerous code violations. Councilman Darrell Curls wants the city to enter into an agreement with the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority of Kansas City (PIEA) to provide up to a million dollars to buy the shopping center with an estimated value of $450,000 before it caught fire. The shopping center would then be demolished.

"Curls believes that could pave the way for one of three developers he says would be interested in developing the 12 acres if the land was figuratively and literally a clean slate."
