The Kansas Avenue Bridge closed in 2022 over structural concerns. At the time, it carried around 7,000 vehicles daily and helped connect drivers from Missouri to Kansas and Kansas drivers to Missouri. The bridge project costs $116 million dollars to complete, and the UG approved funding for temporary repairs in 2022.
