Johnson County Commish Backs Down After Kansas AG Kobach Flexes Legal Warning

Like it or not . . . A delay on more taxes is always a good thing . . . Here's the aftermath report: 

Commissioners announced that during their Thursday, July 24, meeting, members voted to move a measure for a public safety sales tax resolution from the Nov. 2025 ballot to March 2026.

Commissioners said the move also authorized the county’s Chief Attorney to review the ballot language after an opinion filed by Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach. The opinion raised questions about the county’s authority to include certain construction and operational costs in the existing sales tax resolution.
