This is one of the nastier atrocities mistakes that Jason Kander has committed and he's doing it right in TKC's backyard.
To wit . . .
KANDER PICKS ANOTHER ACTIVIST FOR KCMO COUNCIL!!!
However . . . Here's what local newsies don't remember . . .
Last time around Kander picked Council dude Duncan but SADLY won't comment about the 6th District dude walking around with a pro-Palestine pin which is kind of a slap in the face to so many progressive supporters of Israel who trusted Kander to have better judgement.
Kander may well be a hero, he might be the champion of all things progressive and good BUT Kander doesn't know d*ck about Downtown, Westside, Midtown, Plaza or Westport and rather than wait for other candidates . . . He's picking an activist rather than somebody who might help locals with very real concerns for this district.
Again . . . This is irresponsible for Kander to come down from on high and give a newbie this kind of unquestioning support about two years out from the contest.
However . . .
Somebody sent us to this earlier this week as OBVIOUS RAGE BAIT.
Here's the trick . . .
The candidate is a setup . . . She's an union activist flunkie ready to vote with most of the tragic 12th & Oak agenda we've seen for years BUT if she gets enough meanies leaving nasty comments THEN she become an underdog and not a ringer.
Make no mistake . . . Becky is a fugazi but we're willing to wait for somebody, anybody just a tad more real than waste your time by sweating an election that will garner less than 10% of the local electorate.
For now . . . We'll simply share the love letter and get on with our lives . . .
“I’m proud to announce that I am endorsing Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan for Kansas City, MO’s 4th District City Council seat. Anyone who’s been in the city for long has seen Rebeca show up time and time again. She is a bold, values-driven, pragmatic leader with genuine roots in poor and working-class America. I know that she will stand up for working families and work to create a more fair city for all,” said Jason Kander “Rebeca’s potential is enormous. She’s one of our city’s most promising emerging progressive leaders and I know that she will bring the heart, hustle, and vision that Kansas City needs. I know that our city and residents will be better off with her voice on Council.”
