Chairman DaRon McGee to Hold Press Conference on Recall Process
Kansas City, MO — Jackson County Legislature Chairman DaRon McGee will hold a press conference on Monday, July 7, immediately following the 3:00 pm legislative meeting, to update the public on the next steps following the certification of recall petitions against County Executive Frank White, Jr.
Chairman McGee will explain the recall process as outlined in the Jackson County Charter, provide an update on where things stand procedurally, and detail how the Legislature intends to move forward. He will also take questions from the media.
This marks the first time in Jackson County’s history that a recall petition of this magnitude has qualified for the ballot. The Legislature is now responsible for accepting the petition, developing ballot language, and coordinating with election authorities to schedule a special election—all within the charter’s required timeline.
