Kobach's law and order approach leads to dramatic drop in crime
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach's law and order approach is working, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation's 2024 Kansas Crime Index Report. Kobach, Kansas's chief law enforcement officer, hailed the results.
"My office's law and order approach is succeeding. Kansans are less likely to be the victim of a crime today than at any time in the past 20 years," Kobach said.
According to the annual report, the 2024 crime index rate in Kansas is the lowest in over 20 years. The crime index rate is the number of all index crimes per 1,000 people. It decreased from 27.0 offenses per 1,000 people in 2023 to 23.3 in 2024.
