Attempting Kansas City West Bottoms Revitalization Yet Again

Another peek at local hope despite history . . .

Anybody who has lived in the Kansas City metro for more than a minute understands that about every 10 years an EPIC West Bottoms "renaissance" takes place and it never holds.

Despite best intentions people just don't want to create a viable neighborhood near train tracks and in a floodplain . . . And none of that is to say that this location hasn't been the GREATEST location for hipster parties . . . But developers have yet to REALLY cash in . . . 

Check the latest effort . . .   

"Part of phase one of the redevelopment includes an apartment complex, a hotel, and several business spots. It is also the largest phase and will cost around $ 200 million, which is out of the over $500 million total for all five phases of the project."
