Witness Condemns 'No Security' After Latest Kansas City 18th & Vine Mass Shooting

She wasn’t surprised to have learned of the deadly shooting, crediting it to a lack of enforcement in the area.

“Mainly, there was no security. There was no security walking around in this area. I didn’t see any police, and I was out here for about an hour, so I’m not surprised,” she said.

She wants to see safety measures established in the 18th and Vine District, similar to Westport and the Plaza. “They always end up happening late at night. That should let you know that either A, we need to shut things down at a certain time, and B, more police presence needs to be here at a certain time,” she explained.
