An otherwise peaceful suburb confronts worsening violence at the outset of Summer, here's the story:
According to the Lenexa Police Department, officers were sent to a shooting at an apartment complex in Lenexa on Buckingham Road, a few blocks west of Oak Park Mall before I-35. Police said when they arrived everyone had left the scene.
Shortly after, officers found a 16-year-old boy who they say had been shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital for his injuries and is expected to recover, according to the police department.
Officers arrested a possible suspect who is a 19-year-old man.
