Royals & Chiefs Risk Losing 'Authenticity' By Moving To Kansas Suburbs

Since around last year, marketers have been telling us that "authenticity" is more important than anything else when it come to communicating with the masses . . . This passage written by AI offers a peek at some of their reasoning . . .

"The authenticity trend signifies a growing preference for genuine, relatable, and transparent content and experiences, particularly in social media and marketing. Consumers are increasingly seeking realness and connection with brands and individuals, valuing transparency and consistency in messaging. This shift is driven by a desire for deeper connections, a distrust of overly curated content, and a demand for social responsibility."

And here's where things might get ugly . . .

In our humble opinion . . .

MOVING TO THE KANSAS SUBURBS IS JUST ABOUT THE MOST GENERIC, SOULLESS & BORING THING A PERSON CAN DO!!!

Sure, there are plenty of good reasons for a person to sacrifice any semblance of fun in order to build stability.

Heck, even LGBT families are starting to enjoy small towns and suburbia

However, the Kansas City metro, downtown and urban enclaves endure as the creative and cultural touchstone for MILLIONS of people. The Royals & Chiefs moving to an office park or near a shopping mall BETRAYS our cowtown zeitgeist and a movement supported with billions worth of taxpayer money and thousands of small biz people powered by a very real sense of civic pride. Sorry, that same kind of "spirit" just doesn't exist in Kansas suburbs that look like "Anywhere, USA" and don't offer much beyond better fast food options.

Chiefs & Royals are risking more than money by threatening this move for years on end . . . They're actively working to dismantle the driving force of KC's urban identity that has differentiated this town, boosted population above neighbors and driven industry beyond so many other nearby cities.

Of course we're willing to hear other opinions . . .

In fact . . . A baseball stadium in Downtown KCK would actually be a GREAT idea we'd be willing to support and endorse if only because a taco truck collab would be inevitable and hilarious.

Either way . . . We've shared our two cents and now we'd like to hear from readers along with sharing info from a couple of recent reports . . .

"Officials on both sides of the state line seem to have one goal in common: Keeping both teams in the greater metro area.

"Here's a look back at how we got to this point, with many events happening a few decades before Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Salvador Perez, and John Sherman became household names in Kansas City."

More to the point . . .

"The Kansas City Chiefs asked the state of Kansas to extend its offer for a stadium funding incentives package, catching Missouri lawmakers off guard after they passed a funding measure of their own. But neither the Chiefs nor the Royals have made any location commitments yet. "
