"Johnson County residents facing unexpected property tax bills due to a county error have been given an extended deadline to pay them, with the new deadline being May 11, 2026. The county initially omitted a tax supporting the Blue Valley School District from the tax statements of around 250 property owners in 2023 and 2024, and is now requiring them to pay the back taxes. While the county has apologized for the error, they are still requiring the full amount to be paid"
