More Deets On Kansas City Metro HIV Spike

We posted some of this info last week and we noticed a strange bit of backward celebration over people getting sick in the comments.

Something to consider . . .

Given the ongoing wave of deadly opioid abuse & overdoses in rural America despite some important advances with the help of the Trump Administration . . . There's a very real possibility that the next HIV spike could threaten Missouri's rural population more than anyone else.

Moreover . . . Let's not forget some research by the American Medical Association . . .

Rates of syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia more than doubled among those 55 or older over the past 10 years.

And so . . .

It's always kinda creepy when online lurkers celebrate the hardship of other people and play politics and/or religion with what remains a public health concern first and foremost . . . Check-it:

"As federal funding for HIV prevention and treatment programs becomes less certain, the number of people newly diagnosed with the virus in the Kansas City region is trending up.

"Provisional data from the Kansas City Health Department show that an 11-county region in Missouri and Kansas saw 227 new cases in 2024, up from 206 the previous year."
