
We're doubling back to pick this one up for the morning as local workers push back against corporate owners AND, sadly, that might mean this space might be up for rent in the very near future given recent and similar big biz closures in the metro over the past few years . . .

"Starbucks Workers United announced on Friday, May 30, that a wave of victories continued earlier this week as workers at the 1701 W. 39th St. location in Kansas City voted 7-2 to join the union.
"Union leaders noted that the W. 39th St. partners now join a nationwide movement of more than 11,000 baristas who have worked together to win workplace protections on core issues such as living wages, respect, racial and gender equity and fair scheduling and staffing."

A metro area Starbucks now joins the likes of those in Chicago, New York and beyond as baristas voted for the right to unionize.
