Mayor Q: Kansas City Police Deploy Drones

Today we feature new toys for police amid steadily rising homicide numbers . . .

This might or might not dystopian but we're surprised the social media blast didn't get much attention. 

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY POLICE DEBUT DRONES AS PART OF THEIR ARSENAL!!!

To be fair and not soooooo snarky . . .

New tech is a great idea and there are a TON of practical applications that could prove life saving. 

Still . . . 

Look closely and notice the Mavic DJI tech from China is powering KC technology so it's not unreasonable to worry about security and/or the big picture. 

Again, in fairness, we share a peek at the bright side . . .

"Drones as first responders have arrived in Kansas City. Part of ensuring @kcpolice have assets that can provide updates to the ground, observe law breaking, and help spot those needing help. They’re deploying citywide soon and have already helped KCPD catch a felony suspect.

"Thanks to our taxpayers and with support from the Police Foundation, drones will be active citywide, covering events like natural disasters, missing persons and fugitive searches, sideshow challenges, and more."
