The Leawood couple left for Jerusalem on June 12 to attend a board meeting of the Israel Economic Forum. On June 13, Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran. Iran then launched counterattacks.

Bonnie estimated it was their 30th visit to Israel but said it was the first time they’ve had to hole up in an air raid shelter. Bonnie said the sirens sounded eight times during their stay.
