Kansas City 'Transgender Safe Haven' Reconsidered

Here's what this story and most activists take to long to mention . . .

Most of the Kansas City violence against trans people involves so-called "sex work" and prostitution has ALWAYS been a very dangerous & illegal business.

TKC isn't here to judge . . . Over the course of recent U.S. history there have been more than enough Democratic Party politicos AND Republicans who use the "services" of sex workers so that NEITHER side of the partisan debate has the moral high ground.

We only mention the sex work angle because violence against trans people is HORRIBLE and deserves advocacy . . . But it's rarely the result of any "hate" and more often a danger an illicit lifestyle.

Again . . . We note this because stopping any social ill involves UNDERSTANDING how it works and the factors impacting a tragic trend.

And all of this is more detail that "activists" are willing to share with the public even in feature reports like the one KCUR shares this weekend . . .

"The Kansas City Council passed a resolution in 2023 that declared the city a transgender “safe haven,” in response to Missouri and Kansas restricting gender-affirming care. But one community leader says the city hasn’t followed through on that promise with material action."

Kansas City called itself a 'safe haven' for transgender people. Is it fulfilling that promise?
