Homicide Gregory and Main
This evening just after 10:30PM, officers were dispatched on a call for a sound of shots in the area of Gregory and Walnut. As officers were responding the call was updated to a shooting.
When responding officers arrived on scene, they located a vehicle that had become disabled at a nearby intersection. An adult male victim was located inside the car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates this incident may have occurred as a result of shots being fired from a moving vehicle resulting in the victim being struck. We are still working to determine a person of interest and do not have anyone in custody.
This in identifying is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
If anyone has any information they are asked to contact Homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
