"The standoff started after Kansas City police were called to investigate a domestic violence incident . . . The standoff lasted for most of the day, but by 9:10 p.m., a police spokesman said officers entered the home and took the suspect into custody without further incident.

"Police said the investigation into the domestic violence assault remained ongoing . . ."
