Kansas City Man Gunned Down Behind Gas Station Overnight

A late night report following a tragic weekend of violence . . . Here are the deets and more info from local news . . . Check-it: 

Homicide 5400 blk of Winner Rd 

This (Sunday) evening, just after 8:30 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of Winner Road on a reported disturbance.

When officers arrived they located security guards from a nearby apartment complex. The guards directed the officers to a gas station near the intersection where they believed someone had been shot. Behind the gas station officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began performing lifesaving measures and ordered EMS to the scene. KCFD Medics transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

This is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody. Investigators are canvassing the scene and reviewing surveillance footage to determine what led to shots being fired. Crime scene technicians are processing the scene for all available physical evidence. Detectives are also canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses.
