"A 30-year-plus veteran of the Independence Police Department has filed a federal lawsuit claiming he and other qualified officers were unfairly bypassed for promotions. The lawsuit has similar claims to at least 10 other employment-related civil lawsuits with allegations against the Independence Police Department in the past three years."
