“Kansas’s SNAP program helps address hunger and puts healthy food on the table for nearly 190,000 Kansans,” Kelly said.
The transferred responsibility would be $225 million a year to Missouri and $61 million to Kansas.
However, Kelly and the other 23 Democratic Governors who signed a letter calling on Congress not to cut SNAP funding say they don’t have the money to fund the program at the expense of other needs.
