Black Community Activists Blame KC Immigrant Biz For Homicides

Hidden in reporting and politely ignored by local media, there's an important rhetorical tactic at play in recent discussions of Kansas City's homicide spike that needs to be addressed.

The unspoken political power move:

KANSAS CITY BLACK COMMUNITY ACTIVIST LEADERS DIRECT ANGER AGAINST IMMIGRANT BIZ RATHER THAN CRIMINALS!!!

The tactic downplays personal choice or responsibility or a dearth of neighborhood cooperation with police and instead offers fiery rhetoric against the only group of people willing to invest in often rough sections of Kansas City.

According to reporting, the response has been calm and politic . . . Businesses note that they've called police on loiterers and even will deploy private security soon.

However . . .

On the ground level and amongst political players, what we're seeing is very obvious . . .

Many, but not all, local Black community leadership is more willing to lash out at LEGAL IMMIGRANTS doing biz rather than confront the source of criminality.

Here's a passage from reporting that proves our point along with more info . . .

AN ACTIVIST who wore a yellow shirt that displayed ‘Ghetto or Goldmine’ with a list of businesses around it, led a crowd of community organizers and children into the BP’s convenience store and questioned the store clerk about why he hadn’t hired security or worked with local leaders to remedy the issues.

“You need to take personal responsibility for cleaning up the mess in your parking lot,” Urban League President & CEO Gwendolyn Grant told MANAGEMENT during the interaction . . .

The crowd continued to Big D’s Liquor, where AN ACTIVIST spoke on the phone with a manager, telling him that as many as 40 people at a time gather outside of the store, drinking alcohol and using drugs. The manager told him private security would be in the area by July.
Amid the confrontations and calling out of businesses, community leaders and elected officials urged for peace in the community and encouraged Kansas City residents that they are working to make the streets amicable.
